Manny Pacquiao, the well-known boxing champion of Philippines, has introduced his virtual currency on Sunday. He launched the token in a free concert and tried to attract his fans to the newly launched token.
The boxer turned Musician and politician, launched the token with the help from private investors like Sheikh Khaled bin Zayed, a part of the royal family of Abu Dhabi and Michael Owen, a soccer star of Liverpool.
The newly launched Pac token by the boxer will help his fans to buy products and can also relate with him on social media. The 40 years old boxer is also a legislator of Philippines from 2016. He also bagged the title of WBA Welterweight super champion in July.
The Pac token will be registered on Global Exchange of crypto offering of Singapore (GCOX). The CEO of GCOX, Jeffrey has said the token is launched with an intention to strengthen the token ecosystem and is not only to raise money.
Pac is the foremost digital currency launched by a celebrity. Caroline Wozniacki, the tennis star and Jason Derulo the singer is also planning to launch their cryptocurrency after some time with GCOX.
The chief of communication of GCOX, Evan Ngow has said this is certainly not the end to the list of celebrity to join the exchange, but they are looking forward to various other talents to join the bandwagon.
In their whitepaper GCOX has mentioned that the exchange is built on Acclaim technology of blockchain. They have also said that the platform is designed to benefit the celebrities at different points of their career.
On the Sunday concert, Pacquiao sang various songs from his albums and launched his token. Thousands of copies of these albums were sold which consist mostly of love songs.
