On September 24, 2019, it is announced in France that Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies will be accepted by 30 French retailers in more than 2500 sale points. This purchasing facility will start at the beginning of 2020. Now, people of France will be able to make payments in a cryptocurrency other than cash, debit, and credit cards. This is a great development in France.
The credit goes to the Easy2Play Payment Solution as well as the EasyWallet application collaborated by Global POS. According to the reports, there are around 30 brands that can access to this type of payment solution in 2020. Such brands are Boulanger, Conforma, Decathalon, Foot Locker, Intersport, Norauto, Sephora, Cultura, World House, Maison du Monde, and others.
The payments will be made in Bitcoin (BTC), and it will automatically convert into euros at the time of purchasing. Deskoin and Savitar are the Digital Asset Service Provider accreditations that will provide conversion services.
According to the survey held in 2017 and 2018, it was recorded that around 3 to 6% of people in France are using cryptocurrencies.
The CEO and founder of Global POS, Stéphane Djiane, said that it is one of the important steps to be taken in the evolution of France’s payment system.
